The Defender SN301-8CH like the average security camera system that sells to the common public averages in resolution about 420 Television lines which is barely sufficient to clearly identify anyone over ten ft. Therefore if you ever catch a criminal on camera beyond that range and you want to press charges, I discovered it useless to use that in court. If you are searching for fine image with longer range you have to get started at least with a resolution of 550 Television lines per camera which could bring the cost for a 8 channel method to more than $1200. Other than that process serves the goal of monitoring your property and the software program is fairly user friendly.
I specifically purchased this unit considering that of the e-mail alert function, and was especially disappointed to uncover out it wasn't true. The product is advertised to produce e-mail alerts to up to 7 e-mail addresses. I have however to get it to work with one particular address, and way more than one particular is impossible. This is a quote from the Defender assistance center "Unfortunately there is no resolution to the issue, it appears there was a typo in the manual and on the internet site. We are looking into resolving this discrepancy perfect now but unfortunately, I can not see a resolution to this concern in the close to future, if at all, so if this will not meet your needs you may possibly want to look into returning for a refund."
If you do not require this feature the unit appears to operate usually. It could not have been a "typo", it was clearly false marketing.
